UniNetLab University of Palermo (Sicily)

The UniNetLab in Palermo, Sicily opened at the end of 2008. This acoustic laboratory at the University of Palermo consists of two rooms for the measurement of sound insulation on floors (one for air sound and one for contact sound), two rooms for the measurement of sound insulation on walls, doors and frames, and a large echo chamber. In this latter room absorption material can be tested full-size.

Merford Special Doors supplied sound-insulating doors of the MN53 type for this acoustic laboratory. The doors have both a door lock with day and night bolt and two clips that can be operated on both sides. The sound insulation of the doors is equal to that of the walls of the laboratory, so the university’s ambitious researchers can take their measurements in an acoustically perfectly insulated room. The university aims to build a great national reputation with this laboratory.
